卡特彼勒依舊看好中國(guó)（雙語(yǔ)）

　　Caterpillar Inc. remains confident about prospects for China's economy over the next few years despite a recent slowing as authorities there fight inflation, Richard Lavin, a group president of the world's largest maker of construction and mining equipment, said in an interview.

　　全球最大的建筑和采礦設(shè)備制造商卡特彼勒公司（Caterpillar Inc.）的集團(tuán)總裁拉文（Richard Lavin）在接受記者采訪時(shí)說(shuō)，盡管中國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)增速因中國(guó)有關(guān)部門抗擊通脹有所放緩，但卡特彼勒仍然對(duì)未來(lái)幾年中國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)的前景充滿信心。

　　Though demand for construction equipment in China has fallen in recent months, 'we are optimistic about where our business is going in China over the next five years,' said Mr. Lavin, whose responsibilities include China, India and other high-growth markets.

　　雖然近幾個(gè)月來(lái)中國(guó)對(duì)建筑設(shè)備的需求有所下滑，但拉文說(shuō)，我們對(duì)未來(lái)五年在華業(yè)務(wù)的發(fā)展方向感到樂(lè)觀。拉文的職責(zé)包括中國(guó)、印度和其它高增長(zhǎng)市場(chǎng)。

　　Caterpillar found itself unable to keep up with demand for excavators in China in recent years. Now, even though the economy has slowed, the company is proceeding with a series of major investments to expand its capacity there in a variety of areas.

　　近幾年來(lái)卡特彼勒發(fā)現(xiàn)自己無(wú)法及時(shí)滿足中國(guó)市場(chǎng)對(duì)挖掘機(jī)的需求?，F(xiàn)在，即使經(jīng)濟(jì)已經(jīng)放緩，但該公司還是在多個(gè)地區(qū)進(jìn)行了一系列重大投資，以擴(kuò)大其在華產(chǎn)能。

　　China accounts for more than half of global demand for construction equipment, Mr. Lavin said, and he expects the Chinese market to remain much larger than that of North America.

　　拉文說(shuō)，在全球市場(chǎng)對(duì)建筑設(shè)備的需求中，中國(guó)占比超過(guò)一半。他預(yù)計(jì)中國(guó)市場(chǎng)的規(guī)模仍將大大超過(guò)北美。

　　Caterpillar already has about a dozen manufacturing plants and 8,500 employees in China.
